Task A:  Project coordination

Objectives:

Planning, monitoring and control of the project at both the administrative and technical levels.

Lead: Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC)

Tasks:

TA.1 - Administrative and financial coordination.
TA.2 - Technical coordination.

Task B:  User requirements and assessments

Objectives:

To provide an analysis of the existing natural risks prevention procedures of the CPAs involved in the project.
To define user needs to guide the products and tools development.
To define a procedure to assess the products and tools developed.
To assess the performance of the developed products and tools.

Lead: Italian Civil Protection department (IDCP)

Tasks:

TB.1 - Identification of user needs.
TB.2 - User Assessment.

Task C:  Sentinel-1 software development and data processing

Objectives:

To develop the software tools to process the Sentinel-1 data and to provide the terrain motion activity map.
To periodically produce the regional ground deformation activity maps over the two test sites of the project.

Lead: Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC)

TC.1 - Deployment of software tools.
TC.2 - SAR data collection and processing.

Task D:  Test sites characterization and geodatabases

Objectives:

To provide a characterization of each one of the test sites of the project in terms of geohazards.
To create a geo-database of each test site.

Lead: Università degli studi di Firenze (UniFI)

Tasks:

TD.1 - Test site characterization.
TD.2 - Geodatabase generation.

Task E  Geohazard impact assessment

Objectives:

To provide a set of tools to estimate the susceptibility at different scales exploiting existing knowledge.
To prepare susceptibility and hazard maps for the project test sites.
To produce periodically updated geohazard activity maps for the test sites.
To estimate and periodically update the geohazard impact on structures and infrastructures.

Lead: Istituto di Ricerca per la protezione Idrogeologica (IRPI-CNR)

Tasks:

TE.1 - Tailoring of the existing knowledge and tools for the SAFETY purposes.
TE.2 - Susceptibility and hazard maps.
TE.3 - Generation of geohazard activity maps.
TE.4 - Impact assessment on structures and infrastructures.

Task F:  Product validation

Objectives:

To critically assess and validate both the software developed tools and the obtained results.
To evaluate the usefulness of integrating SAFETY products into CPA prevention activities.

Lead: Instituto Geológico y Minero de España (IGME)

Tasks:

TF.1 - Definition of the validation procedures.
TF.2 - Validation of software tools and products.
TF.3 - Integration of SAFETY products in CP prevention activities.

Task G:  Project sustainability

Objectives:

Design of a long term operative infrastructure to supply to the CPAs in order to continue with SAFETY.

Lead: Centro nacional de investigaciones (CNIG-IGN)

Tasks:

TG.1 - Design of a long term operative infrastructure.

Task H:  Dissemination

Objectives:

Organization of a training course on the use of the SAFETY products.
SAFETY workshop.
Project Web Site and a Layman’s Report.

Tasks:

TH.1 - Dissemination activities involving Civil Protection entities.
TH.2 - Dissemination and project publicity for the general public.
